The angry heroine has other ideas and immediately starts to unleash her powerful scream at him when, suddenly, the thug she battled recovers and slams a thick leather collar around her neck, instantly cutting off her Canary Cry. The anonymous supervillain reveals that the collar is fitted with special technology that will render her super-scream obsolete. As long as it is locked around her neck, her special cry will be useless to her and the Black Canary's superpowers will be nullified... for good! Sometime later, the stunned superheroine finds herself tied and gagged next to her friend on a couch. The masked beauty is weary, having been worked over previously by the villain's goons and is now no help at all to her partner.
